In June, OPI announced the launch of 6 new limited edition nail lacquers in celebration of the 50th anniversary of an icon - the Ford Mustang (press release here)! I have been excited ever since to try them all out!
Here is a collage of the 6 shades in this collection... perfect for Instagram and Pinterest!
Overall Comments:
This collection features 6 different shades and has a good mix of cremes and shimmers! Although some of the polishes are not the most original inspired shades, they are welcome great additions to my stash. The formulas for the creme shades are consistent like many other OPI polishes... smooth, creamy and pigmented! I would only complain about formula for 1 out of the 6 polishes... but even then it's not too bad. Overall, I am really happy with this collection... I just wish they had based all 6 shades on the paint colours offered by the Mustang versus colours that are not unique and fit an inspiration story.

Angel with a Leadfoot: drive on up and say "halo" to this celestial white
Colour: White | Finish: Creme | # of Coats: 2 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 9/10
Comments: It's always nice to see a plain white creme because they are so versatile. With 2 coats of perfect creamy goodness, I can see myself using it as a base for nail art whenever I need a white polish.
Girls Love Ponies: this grown-up hot pink has horsepower to spare
Colour: White | Finish: Creme | # of Coats: 2 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 8/10
Comments: This shade isn't the most original but it is still a beautiful hot pink with cool blue undertones. It's creamy, glossy and looks very girly.. I love it!
50 Years of Style: celebrate all your milestones in this made-to-party golden pearl
Colour: Gold | Finish: Foil | # of Coats: 3 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: A fun party gold with no glitter or shimmer... but it is still bright, fun and definitely very golden... a perfect way to celebrate 50 years! Yes, it is streaky, which means you have to be very careful when applying the polish.
The Sky's My Limit: make your destination this shimmering endless blue
Colour: Blue | Finish: Foil-Shimmer | # of Coats: 2 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 10/10
Comments: Gorgeous, shimmery and so much fun! Looking at the pictures now, I wish I had added a third coat as I can see some visible nail line. But in real life and at the time I swatched this shade, 2 coats were plenty! This is a definitely must have from this collection and a unique addition to my stash.
Race Red: I'll be wearing this hot pepper red in the winner's circle
Colour: Red | Finish: Creme | # of Coats: 1-2 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 10/10
Comments: Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! It's not red... it's not orange.. it's perfectly in between!!! This is a perfect representation of the new 2015 Mustang in Race Red. This was my favourite in this collection for sure! Although I used 2 coats in my swatch, you can definitely get away with 1 generous coat. The formula is amazing... very pigmented, creamy and dries to a glossy finish.
Queen of the Road: word on the street is this majestic black really rules
Colour: Brown-Black | Finish: Pearl-Creme | # of Coats: 2 | Topcoat: No | Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: This is a dark dark dark dark brown polish (so it looks black) with a pearly-creme quality. It's definitely not your typical black creme polish and has a unique quality about it. The softness in the black reminds of a car's leather seats. Although 1 generous coat would be enough, it applies a little streaky. I would go with 2 coats for a cleaner and smoother finish.
Hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this collection.
I love, love, love 2 out of the 6 polishes in this collection... so my top picks are Race Red and The Sky's My Limit. Angel with a Leadfoot also deserves an honourable mention! Which shades are your favourites?
